Diet To Lose Fat, Don’t Diet To Lose Weight

Making life style changes are never easy, but if you have reached the point in your life where you have looked in the mirror and decided it is time to diet to lose fat, then you are ready to make them. Maybe your doctor told you that you needed to lose weight for your health or perhaps you are just tired of looking bad and clothes not fitting.

Whatever the reason behind your motivation, realizing that fad diets to not work in the long run is a realization that will help you achieve the results you are looking for. Quick weight loss is not real weight loss and that last thing you want to do is go through another phase of yo-yo dieting.

You have reached a turning point because you realize that any diet to lose fat must be one that will keep the weight off over the long run. This is a serious change to your thinking and one that will affect your whole life in a positive way.

It’s easy to see the scale go down on a fad diet, sometimes even really fast. But unfortunately when you diet this way, the pounds come back on just as fast and you often end up with more than you started with. Restrictive diets may help you lose weight for a time but they are not a diet to lose fat.

Fad diets deprive your body of the nutrition you need to stay healthy. What you think is lost fat is really just lost water weight. When you deprive your body of what it needs, fat does not vanish, muscle tissue does and you’re still left with the fat. If you keep up this kind of dieting the results will either leave you unhealthy or unable to maintain the weight loss or both.

But when you diet to lose fat instead of just to see the numbers drop on the scale, you will see significant, long term results that will be sustainable. The bulky fat you hate the most, like that in the area of your stomach or thighs, will begin to disappear. When you diet to lose fat, it is that fat that will vanish for good.

When you diet to lose fat you have to feed your body real food. You have to deliver all of the nutrients, vitamins, and trace minerals that are needed to maintain a trim, healthy body with nicely toned lean muscle. You cannot achieve those results with the quick and unsustainable results of a fad diet. You have to make the mental switch to a lifestyle where you diet to lose fat instead.

A nutritionally unbalance diet is the worst possible option if you are serious about losing weight. Eating real food will put your body in the best possible condition and in combination with exercise your body will begin to burn the fat that you are so anxious to be rid of.

If you are ready to diet to lose fat then you are ready to give up on flash in the pan diets. Concentrating on eliminating excess body fat will help you do just that. In the end you will not only look better but you will feel better as well. No longer will you have to carry the excess fat around with you that slows you down, tires you out and makes you unhealthy.
