<p>You know, men tend to want big bodies with bulky muscles. This is a natural desire given our ancestors need for large men to perform daily tasks. Women are naturally inclined to view big men, even if it means they are merely overweight, as being more valuable and desirable than skinny men. <p>Vince&#8217;s program became popular because he understands how difficult it is for people to gain lean body mass and lose fat with a &#8220;one-size-fits-all&#8221; approach. We all have different body types: ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph. And each of these requires a different method for fat loss or building lean body mass.</p>
<p>Vince has the skinny ectomorph body (though you would not know that now!). Years ago, he worked like a dog in the gym following traditional muscle-building programs, yet he could not gain an ounce. He kept his ectomorph flat chest and small shoulders. <p>Endomorphs have soft bodies. They also have difficulty building lean body mass like ectomorphs, but they also have difficulty burning fat and losing weight. Their bodies tend to be &#8220;pudgy.&#8221;</p>
<p>So, how did Vince turn his skinny, ectomorph body into a well-defined, ripped body? He ate the right foods in the right combinations and worked out in such a way to continually challenge his muscles.</p>
<p>You will not gain the wrong weight (fat) and develop a gut like many ectomorphs do by eating too many calories and fattening shakes. Everyday foods are on the menu, but in the right combination.</p>
<p>Conversely, endomorphs tend to starve themselves to lose the fat and wonder why they cannot gain any muscle mass. When you go without eating and workout excessively, you end up stripping the body of lean body mass. Regardless of body type, you need to supply your body with the proper tools to facilitate muscle growth AND you need to work out properly to challenge the muscles.</p>

<p>Vince makes it clear that supplements simply do not work. Do not waste your money and time hoping a pill, shake or powder will solve all your muscle-building dilemmas. Most have very small results and only if you are working out every spare moment you get!</p>

If you are a &#8220;hardgainer,&#8221; one of the major things to keep in mind is that you shouldn&#8217;t overlift. That&#8217;s because if you tend to be underweight, you can overtrain more quickly than someone else.</p>
<p>Although it&#8217;s tempting, you&#8217;ll only hurt yourself if you try to overtrain. Look out for these signs of overtraining: you have loss of appetite, have trouble sleeping, are tired for no apparent reason, and are gaining weight very slowly, if at all. If that&#8217;s you, cut back on your training for better results.</p>
<p>Overtraining is basically done when you exercise for more than one hour, rendering the whole training ineffective.</p>
<p>The best exercises to get you from skinny to muscular will be full body, bodyweight exercises to start with. These will give you strength and coordination and burn fat. The same goes for weight lifting exercises.</p>
<p>Focus on compound exercises that have you moving two or more joints to complete the movement. For example, squats, clean and jerks, squat presses, deadlifts, bench press, politics and chimps, and the military press, as well as dips, are some examples.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t do isolation exercises at least in the beginning. You can add a few of these in later as you have success, and if you have time left over. Examples of this include tricep extensions, leg curls, and leg extensions. You can do calf raises, however, and they can be especially useful on a &#8220;leg day&#8221; if you are doing a split routine.</p>
<p>So, how do you design a workout routine to get you from skinny to muscular? I would say, why reinvent the wheel? Cut loose with a couple of bucks and get a proven program that will teach you.</p>
<p>When you get this type of program, follow the program religiously at least at first. After you&#8217;ve gotten used to it, you can develop your own moves and styles to meet your goals.</p>
