			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>What&#8217;s your reason for wanting to lose weight? Perhaps you want to fit into that old pair of jeans that looked great on you ten years ago or you want to have a bikini body this summer. Has your doctor given you an ultimatum?</p>
<p>There are a wide variety of reasons that people want to lose weight. If you understood that some of the benefits of losing weight or a lower risk of heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, cancer and a longer life, wouldn&#8217;t you be motivated to lose those excess pounds? Certainly, the answer will be yes.</p>
<p>In addition to these health benefits, you will also feel much better and look great when you lose weight. No longer will you have to settle for the shapeless plus size clothes that resemble baggy tents. Additionally, you energy levels will increase and you will be able to move around easily.</p>
<p>I believe that there are more people concerned about their looks than the health risks of excess weight. When these people decide to try to lose weight, they often choose some crazy diet plan, hoping to lose weight quickly rather than a healthier, long term plan.</p>
<p>Seems pretty clear (to me at least!) their primary concern isn&#8217;t health. I think if we made health our top priority we&#8217;d get a bit further on the scale of success when trying to lose weight.</p>
<p>The health ramifications of being overweight or obese make for pretty dire reading. Some of the consequences are: premature death, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, breathing problems, arthritis, reproductive complications, mobility problems, depression, discrimination.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s strange that even though most people are well aware of the health problems caused by excess weight, it seems to make very little difference.</p>
<p>It seems like everyone you meet would like to lose weight. Well, nearly everyone. Today&#8217;s society has influenced the concept of what&#8217;s attractive. Being thin is most desirable, especially among women. If you are one of the people that wants or needs to lose weight, you should ask yourself exactly what your motivations are.</p>
<p>Why do you think its so hard to give up unhealthy habits and replace them with good ones? How can we find the necessary motivation to change these habits and start making our health our main priority?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When we discover that we are heavier than we want to be, we have a natural inclination to eat less food. We may skip lunch or eat only a tiny amount of our dinner in the hope that if we eat less our body will burn off some of its fat. But that is not necessarily true. Eating less actually makes it more difficult to lose weight.</p>
<p>Keep in mind that the human body took shape millions of years ago, and at that time there were no diets. The only low-calorie event in people&#8217;s lives was starvation. Those who could cope with a temporary lack of food were the ones who survived. Our bodies, therefore, have developed this built-in mechanism to help us survive in the face of low food intake.</p>
<p>When researchers compare overweight and thin people, they find that they are roughly the same number of calories. What makes overweight people different is the amount of fat that they eat. Thin people tend to eat less fat and more complex carbohydrates.</p>
<p>Listen, you can&#8217;t lose a ton of weight overnight. In order to make this a successful journey you will need a little common sense and certain guidelines. There are all kinds of misinformation floating around the television, radio, and especially the Internet. Those who are desperate can easily be duped or ripped off.</p>
<p>Just open up a magazine or newspaper and see all the advertisements that are revealing some new product that guarantees to take the excess weight off quickly. In the fast paced world we live in, finding that &#8220;magic&#8221; pill is the main goal. This is why millions of Americans alone spend billions on diet plans and products. We understand there are times when they do lose weight, but most of the time it is regained if you quick utilizing the product.</p>
<p>A survey was done recently to try and determine if any commercial diet program could prove long-term success. Not a single program could do so. So rampant has the so-called diet industry become with new products and false claims that the FDA has now stepped in and started clamping down.</p>
<p>One thing to understand about being overweight is that you can develop various diseases over the years or serious health problems. The fact is when your calorie intake is excessive, the saturated fat is more frequent.</p>
<p>Most of us believe that people become heavy because they eat too many calories. The truth is we are eating fewer calories today than we did when we hit the turn of the century. Regardless, America is still consider heavier today and partly because we&#8217;re more sedentary now. Plus, the fat content in the food around America has changed dramatically over the years.</p>
<p>In the end, if you try to diet without a successful plan you will end up fatter in a shorter period of time. It won&#8217;t be evident in the beginning because you will begin to lose weight. However, this is more water and muscle than anything else. When the weight does return it comes back as fat and is harder to eliminate. The only way to truly overcome this is by increasing your metabolism. The way to do this is through proper exercise.</p>
<p>The best thing to do is find a routine that is comfortable. One of the best ways to do it is through walking and it&#8217;s one of the easiest exercises you can perform. Most importantly, you will be able to control your weight, tone your muscles, and strengthen the bones all at the same time.</p>

<p>The reality is that many of the top killers in our country are directly associated with excess weight. As a result, getting in shape can literally be life changing.</p>
<p>And the key to getting in shape the right way is to have a balanced exercise plan. After all, if you go too far in any single direction, you can get diminishing returns.</p>
<p>So here is how to balance your exercise routine:</p>
<p>1. Cardiovascular exercise: Also known as aerobic exercise, this form of exercise is great for increasing heart health. And the best thing here is that you don&#8217;t have to become a sprinter to notice benefits. In fact, the simple act of walking can improve your health substantially.</p>
<p>2. Resistance training: But don&#8217;t worry, you don&#8217;t have to become a power lifter in order to see benefits. In fact, the best approach here is to pick a program that fits with your type of personality. After all, if you enjoy what you are doing, you are more likely to stick with it.</p>
<p>3. Flexibility training: Do you suffer from low back pain? If so, you are like most Americans. You see, muscle fibers shorten and stiffen with age. Thus, flexibility training is a great way to prevent and reverse the effects of stiffness. It will also improve your posture and balance so that nagging pains become less of an issue.</p>
<p>4. Exercises for better balance control: Being able to balance your body in a wide range of environments is key for preventing falls and subsequent injury. Unfortunately, balance abilities tend to erode with age. So make sure your weight lifting has some balance incorporated into it and add some specific balance exercises to your existing routine.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So many people spend hundreds and thousands of dollars for facial skin care yet neglect the chin, throat and neck areas. But here&#8217;s the good news: you do not have to blow lots of moolah for your face, chin, neck and throat to be in great condition.</p>
<p>Everyone who has a double chin would love to get rid of it whether they admit it or not. This is because having a double chin does not make you look younger. It also makes you appear rather unhealthy to others.</p>
<p>You have to lose weight if you are overweight to help get rid of your double chin. Work up a sweat everyday for an hour by doing aerobics exercises. A double chin though is not just caused by excess weight.</p>
<p>Double chin can also be caused by chin, neck and throat muscles that are in bad shape. This is the reason why facial exercises should be done regularly to help you get rid of your double chin. Tighten these muscles by doing these double chin exercises.</p>
<p>First exercise: Sit up straight and slightly move your head back to look at the ceiling. Keep your lips closed and relaxed. Then open your lips and stick out your tongue as if you want your tongue to touch your chin. Count ten seconds before closing your mouth and going back to your original position.</p>
<p>Second exercise: Tilt your head back with your back erect and look at the ceiling. With closed lips start chewing as if you were eating. Feel the muscles in your neck and throat area working as you perform this exercise. Keep chewing for twenty seconds.</p>
<p>Exercise three: Lie down near the edge of your bed and allow your head to hang towards the floor. Slowly raise your head and bring your chin to touch your chest. Keep your chin touching your chest for ten seconds. Then bring your head towards the floor and pause for a few moments before raising your head again.</p>
<p>Do all three exercises at least five times everyday, eat well, and sleep well, and your double chin will disappear in about a month&#8217;s time.</p>

<p>Which diet should you go on? There is always something new on the market that is promising to rid you of your excess weight without you having to lift a finger &#8211; and in double quick time too. Then there are those who pass on their experience of a program saying it’s the best there is &#8211; or is it?</p>
<p>If you are after a quiet life, the best thing you can do if you want to lose weight is to tell nobody. People don’t mean any harm, in fact they want to support you. They mean well, but they can also give you a lot of unwanted pressure, which you do without.</p>
