			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>What&#8217;s your reason for wanting to lose weight? Perhaps you want to fit into that old pair of jeans that looked great on you ten years ago or you want to have a bikini body this summer. Has your doctor given you an ultimatum?</p>
<p>There are a wide variety of reasons that people want to lose weight. If you understood that some of the benefits of losing weight or a lower risk of heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, cancer and a longer life, wouldn&#8217;t you be motivated to lose those excess pounds? Certainly, the answer will be yes.</p>
<p>In addition to these health benefits, you will also feel much better and look great when you lose weight. No longer will you have to settle for the shapeless plus size clothes that resemble baggy tents. Additionally, you energy levels will increase and you will be able to move around easily.</p>
<p>I believe that there are more people concerned about their looks than the health risks of excess weight. When these people decide to try to lose weight, they often choose some crazy diet plan, hoping to lose weight quickly rather than a healthier, long term plan.</p>
<p>Seems pretty clear (to me at least!) their primary concern isn&#8217;t health. I think if we made health our top priority we&#8217;d get a bit further on the scale of success when trying to lose weight.</p>
<p>The health ramifications of being overweight or obese make for pretty dire reading. Some of the consequences are: premature death, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, breathing problems, arthritis, reproductive complications, mobility problems, depression, discrimination.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s strange that even though most people are well aware of the health problems caused by excess weight, it seems to make very little difference.</p>
<p>It seems like everyone you meet would like to lose weight. Well, nearly everyone. Today&#8217;s society has influenced the concept of what&#8217;s attractive. Being thin is most desirable, especially among women. If you are one of the people that wants or needs to lose weight, you should ask yourself exactly what your motivations are.</p>
<p>Why do you think its so hard to give up unhealthy habits and replace them with good ones? How can we find the necessary motivation to change these habits and start making our health our main priority?</p>

When you eat a diet that&#8217;s varied, you are doing things the right way, so that you&#8217;re not going to suffer health problems just because you&#8217;re trying to lose weight. Eat something from every food group, every day.</p>
<p>Eat breakfast. Not only should you breakfast be healthy, but if you skip breakfast, you&#8217;re much more likely to over eat later in the day. In addition, having a healthy breakfast is going to help you with quick weight loss because you will have the energy to get through your day, and your metabolism will receive a boost to the morning when you eat breakfast, such that it&#8217;s going to help you lose weight and burn calories throughout the day.</p>
<p>Watch how you cut your calories. Don&#8217;t cut your calories too extensively, because if you do, your metabolism is going to slow down as well. This is going to actually hurt your weight loss efforts in the long run. Although it&#8217;s true you&#8217;re going to lose a lot of weight at first, likely, this is the wrong kind of weight to lose. You&#8217;re going to lose muscle mass and water, rather than fat. When this type of diet plan is used, such that it&#8217;s very extreme, this muscle mass loss is going to lower your metabolism, which means that you&#8217;re going to have less of an ability to burn off calories and therefore lose weight.</p>
<p>Drink enough water when you&#8217;re on your diet. You should be getting at least six to eight glasses of water a day, which will help you lose weight; it will do this because you&#8217;ll be filled up with water to some extent and will eat less. It&#8217;s been shown as well that when you drink more water, your metabolism works better, which can also help you boost weight loss.</p>
<p>Get more fiber in your diet. The fiber you get should come from food-based sources like vegetables, beans, whole grain cereals, fruits, and legumes.</p>
<p>DON&#8217;T use diet pills. Not only are they potentially dangerous, but they&#8217;ll slow your metabolism down by cutting your appetite drastically and making it more difficult for you to lose weight. Again, you&#8217;ll certainly lose weight at first if you drastically cut calories, but in the long run, you&#8217;ll only hurt your efforts to lose weight permanently &#8212; and more than that, you&#8217;ll probably hurt your health by using diet pills, too.</p>
<p>Apart from eating healthy while on diet, you should make sure to exercise 3 times a week. You do not have to perform strenuous exercises. Exercising at least 3 times a week keeps your metabolism active, which makes it possible to lose weight more quickly.</p>
<p>If you truly want to lose weight and be successful at it, you have to take everything above into consideration and put it in proper perspective.
